The MRCPI in obstetrics and gynaecology is known for its thorough assessment of clinical skills and knowledge, making it a respected credential in the field. It includes two key parts: the Part 2 Written Exam and the OSCE/Clinical Exam. To qualify for the Part 2 Written exam, candidates must have passed the MRCPI Part 1 in either general medicine or paediatrics, or be exempted by a recognised equivalent qualification.
The MRCPI OBG Part 2 OSCE consists of two sections, the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) and a clinical exam. The OSCE part includes seven 10-minute stations and at least one rest station. In the clinical exam, there will be one long clinical case in either obstetrics or gynaecology. The duration of the clinical exam is 25 minutes.
Achieving the MRCPI in O&G demonstrates your advanced expertise and skill. It signals to employers your readiness to provide top-quality care in obstetrics and gynaecology.
