Upcoming MRCPI OBG 2 Written exam dates

March 2025 exam

  • Exam date: 6th March 2025
  • Location: Remote invigilation (worldwide)
  • Application opening date: 4th December 2024
  • Application closing date: 8th January 2025
  • Exam fee: €730
  • Provisional results date: 4th April 2025

September 2025 exam

  • Exam date: 4th September 2025
  • Location: Remote invigilation (worldwide)
  • Application opening date: 11th June 2025
  • Application closing date: 16th July 2025
  • Exam fee: €730
  • Provisional results date: 3rd October 2025

Please note that online applications open at 12 pm (Irish time) on the opening date and close at 5 pm (Irish time) on the closing date.

Eligibility criteria for MRCPI OBG Part 2 Written

You must meet one of the following eligibility criteria to sit for the MRCPI OBG Part 2 Written exam.

  • MRCOG Part 1 (Note: MRCOG Part 1 exemption is not accepted)
  • RCPI Professional Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (awarded from 2022 onwards)
  • MRCPI Part 1 in General Medicine or Paediatrics (completed within the last six years)
  • MRACOG (Australia)
  • MRNZCOG (New Zealand)
  • FCOG (South Africa)
  • FCPS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from Pakistan
  • MRANZCOG
  • MMed (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from Malaysia (2008 onwards)

Additionally, you should have completed 18 months of post-registration training in recognised positions, with 9 months in obstetrics and 9 months in gynaecology. It is important to note that you must not have exceeded 6 attempts at the exam.
