Are you preparing for the upcoming MRCPI OBG 2 Written challenge? Preparing for the MRCPI Obstetrics and Gynaecology Part II Written Exam? As this high-stakes test is conducted entirely online through remote invigilation, it’s essential to understand how the process works and what steps you must take to ensure a smooth experience. In this blog, we will guide you on how the exam is remotely invigilated and what key steps a candidate needs to focus on.

How is the MRCPI OBG 2 Written Exam Conducted Online?

The MRCPI OBG 2 Written exams are delivered through remote invigilation instead of at a physical examination centre. This means candidates have the opportunity to sit for the exam in the comfort of their home, in a quiet and secure space. You will take the exam on your own computer, which will be remotely supervised by invigilators throughout the examination.

Candidates taking the examination via remote invigilation will be contacted by the online exam provider, TestReach, approximately 10 days in advance of the examination date. This email will contain the candidate’s login credentials and important instructions to note.

Candidates will then receive a second email notifying them that they have been assigned to the examination. This email contains instructions to log in to the application and test their device, webcam, microphone, and speakers. The candidate is also required to book a time slot to start their examination.

The start time of the examination is based on the candidate’s location and the time settings on their device. This step must be completed at least 72 hours before the exam, or the candidate will not be allowed to start the examination.

On the day of the exam, candidates must log in to the Exam Application at least 15 minutes before their scheduled start time.

Make Sure These 5 Elements Are in Place Before You Sit for the Exam

A Comfortable Space

A quiet, secure environment is a must so that you can attend the MRCPI OBG 2 Written exam in a safe and comfortable space without interruption.

Ensure Your Laptop Is Fully Functional

Use a PC or laptop with a reliable internet connection, webcam, and microphone. Ensure the device has the necessary permissions and is enabled to install the remote invigilation app.

Take Note of What’s Not Permitted

Multiple screens, headphones, scrap/rough paper, and earbuds are not permitted in the exam. A virtual notepad will be provided for use during the exam.
